Merry Christmas from St Johns Michigan. This is a view of our main street downtown all decorated for Christmas. This small town has so much to offer year round but it is especially beautiful this time of year. The stores down town have a decorating contest. So many unique shops. There is the Adorn Mint […]
It’s Friday and time to take a look at another gospel song. As I thought back over the many gospel songs I grew up singing, I noticed how many had the same name listed as the author….Fanny Crosby. Songs I have loved: Blessed Assurance To God Be the Glory Rescue the Perishing Jesus Keep Me […]

I am a history nut! That is, American history. My library is full of biographies of presidents, secretaries of state, senators – the players in our country’s political life. As I read of our country’s past, it is interesting to note that much of our current political events are really not new. Attempts to destroy […]

About three months into my sixth grade school year, we moved from Mason to Edgewood (both small towns about 10 miles apart). For me, they were opposite sides of the universe. Mason Grade School was one of my happiest times in school. I […]

In response Bishop Steven Croft wrote an article saying “from the perspective of the spirits of the age, there […]

Recently our youngest granddaughter had a sleepover with us. We took her to a children’s museum. On the way home we started playing a game we had played with our children when they were little to pass the time on a road trip. My husband started by saying “I’m going on a picnic and I’m […]
Recently I began following another blogger whose posts I have enjoyed. Her post that caught my eye was listing five things she liked about herself. Check it out here: http://cyranny.com/2020/01/15/5-more-things-i-like-about-myself/ The whole point is that we are quick to find things about our self we do not like, things we want to change, things that […]
There is a poem that has been printed and read for years at Christmas time. I have often read it but until this year I never really questioned who wrote it or why. Writing this month about my memories of past Christmas times I thought of this poem and decided to find out who wrote […]
