Growing up as a Christian I have met people who did not accept the Bible or have any belief in Jesus Christ as the Son of God. While I have never agreed with them, I can understand how someone might reject the Gospel. A Muslim, a Hindu, a Buddhist or simply an atheist might reject […]
When I wrote this 4 years ago this “piped piper” was continuing to reach out to others – not only children but mentoring young adult women and sharing God’s Word. It has been a joy to see her become an ordained minister and now she begins a new adventure as a pastor. Wonder how much […]
My parents died in the same year – Mom in April and Dad in August. I remember my sisters and I looking at each other and saying “We are now the older generation.” Until that time we could think of ourselves as young – it was our parents’ and their siblings who were old. But […]
Now celebrating 16 years cancer free. Every October as we observe Breast Cancer Awareness I still thank God that He heard my plea and has given me all these additional years. Grandma’s Ramblings Laughing at how much I look like my Dad with my bald head! This month I celebrate 12 years cancer free! As I […]

I like this view of worship in church – taken from one of my husband’s sermons. I recently wrote about one of my daughters who has grown up to be a minister and just happens to also be my pastor. Founded by the American Missionary Association, Fisk University was only one of more than 500 schools and colleges this anti-slavery group set up before, during and after the Civil War. Five years after its founding, the […]
Those of you who have followed my posts for awhile know that my husband and I are Scrabble addicts. We play with a super scrabble board. It has more spaces for words than a regular Scrabble board and 200 tiles instead of 100. We have kept a record of our scores since 2008 and are […]

Home again after taking a trip to the top of the mitten to see the Tunnel of Trees. Since moving to Michigan last year I have heard a lot about this short section of highway (approximately 27 miles) that follows the shore of Lake Michigan and the Little Traverse Bay. Told by many how beautiful […]
God blesses those who work for peace, for they will be called the children of God. Those words are from Jesus as He spoke to the crowds about what it meant to be a part of the kingdom of God. Where are the peace makers? We are so divided as a nation today. So many […]
